Clean, protect boilers with Hydronic #5
Hydronic formula #5 from Silver King Mfg. is scientifically formulated to clean and protect boilers and hydronic-heating systems. Hydronic #5 prevents formulation of insulating scale on heat-transfer surfaces; keeps dissolved solids in solution; frees and lubricates stuck zone valves; dissolves insulating sludge on tankless coils; prevents corrosion; protects and lubricates pump seals, and quiets nosy circulators; insures maximum heat transfer; is safe to use in all boilers; and is compatible with both ethylene glycol and propylene glycol antifreeze.

Smith 28HE Series beefs up efficiency
The Smith Cast Iron Boilers 28HE Series high-efficiency boiler offers the highest combustion and thermal efficiencies possible with forced-draft firing and is the most efficient commercial steam boiler on the market today. The 28HE Series offers thermal and combustion efficiencies of up to 86 percent for oil and 83 percent for gas. Series 28HE boilers are available in 15 basic sizes with gross output ratings from 931 to 4,622 MBH and can be used in either water or steam systems with light oil, gas or gas/light oil. The boiler incorporates the design of 28A Series boilers with revised flue-gas travel from increased baffle surface area. Heat-transfer rods, an extra-thick three-inch insulated metal jacket, baffled clean-out covers and specifically matched power burners were selected for the design to provide higher efficiency. Graphite port connectors are used to provide the installation ease of a gasket and the longevity of a push nipple to minimize callbacks.

Radiant Mixing Block puts four operations in one
The patent-pending Taco Radiant Mixing Block combines a variable-speed injection mixing control, injection circulator, system circulator and air elimination into a single unit. The Radiant Mixing Block can be set up as an outdoor reset control, a setpoint control or a delta T limiting control, all with no special piping, no balancing valve, no closely spaced tees, no external controls, and no complex wiring. Just four pipe connections and installation is complete.
iSeries Mixing Valves provide boiler protection
Taco’s iSeries Mixing Valves provide precise, cost-effective temperature control for heating systems. Available in two-way mixing or three-way injection configurations, iSeries valves provide either outdoor reset control or fixed-water supply temperature. Additionally, iSeries valves protect the boiler against flue gas condensation. A microprocessor-based control is built into the valve actuator, to which all wiring connections are made. All-in-one iSeries Mixing Valves deliver zone-by-zone temperature control with built-in boiler protection.

Wayne Combustion Systems Triple Limit Boiler Controls
Wayne Combustion Systems has introduced the Hydronix Triple Limit Boiler Control. This electronic temperature control has been designed to offer quality, enhanced safety and advanced features in a familiar, industry-standard configuration. The Wayne boiler control features solid-state relays that require less energy to turn on and will not wear out or weld shut like electro-mechanical relays. Redundant safety systems utilizing microcontrollers continually monitor the relays and sensors and instantly detect errors. Computerized supervisory systems ensure that every aspect of the control is operating properly before a heat cycle is started. Additional features include multi-position mounting capabilities, a lightweight high-grade aluminum casing, replaceable plug-in sensors and LED indicators with diagnostics.
