MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 2, 2009 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today introduced the Honeywell AquaReset™, an outdoor reset system designed to improve boiler efficiency, reduce contractor installation time and generate additional energy savings for homeowners.
"Previous energy-saving systems have been cumbersome and time-consuming for contractors to install," said Rich Simons, director of product marketing, Honeywell Residential Combustion Control. "With the Honeywell AquaReset, contractors can now offer a pocketbook-friendly energy-savings device that can be installed quickly."
How It Works
The AquaReset maximizes energy savings by connecting a Honeywell electronic Aquastat® and the Honeywell AquaReset module via the EnviraCOM™ communications protocol. Built into most Honeywell combustion products, the EnviraCOM communications protocol allows all EnviraCOM-enabled products in a system to speak to each other – simplifying installation, and maximizing efficiency and troubleshooting. Devices start communication upon connection.
Once connected, the boiler automatically adjusts its setpoint based on the outdoor temperature – providing all the necessary heat to maintain optimum comfort levels and minimizing boiler energy loses during off cycles.
The Honeywell AquaReset system improves boiler efficiency and can create up to a 15 percent energy-savings for the homeowner – enough to pay for the upgrade in one to two years.
Additional AquaReset features include:
• Built-in diagnostics maintains proper system operation and efficiency
• Domestic hot water (DHW) ensures all household needs are met
-MORE 2-Honeywell AquaRESET Outdoor Reset System
• Boost mode allows for an override of the setback temperature when the heat demand from a particular zone is not met, helping to reduce unnecessary call-backs
• Anti-short cycle adjusts minimum time off between cycles, allowing the boiler to use heat remaining from the previous cycles
Kits are available for retrofit applications and new installations. The Honeywell AquaReset System for control replacement includes an EnviraCOM-enabled Aquastat, an outdoor temperature sensor and Honeywell AquaReset module. The Honeywell AquaReset kit, which includes an outdoor temperature sensor and Honeywell AquaReset module, is available for installations where a boiler already features an enabled Aquastat. A domestic hot water kit is available for applications that require hot water override.
