MINNEAPOLIS, (November 6, 2012) – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced the introduction of the first in a family of Wi-Fi thermostats to roll out to distributors and contractors in the coming months. The Wi-Fi VisionPRO® programmable thermostat will broaden the product portfolio contractors offer to now include another option that wirelessly connects their customers to products that feature remote residential temperature controls. The Wi-Fi VisionPRO allows consumers to conveniently monitor and control their home heating and cooling system from anywhere with a computer, smart phone or tablet using Honeywell’s Total Connect Comfort Services free app available in the iTunes™ or Google Play™ store.
“The new Wi-Fi VisionPRO opens up great opportunity for our contractors and distributors to broaden their offering of products to now include a Wi-Fi thermostat,” said John Tyhacz, vice president and general manager for Honeywell’s Home Comfort and Energy Systems business. “This product is particularly appealing because it creates an opportunity for the contractor to offer a product with technology that homeowners are familiar with at an affordable price. Another great feature is the Wi-Fi VisionPRO helps manage energy costs and that can help save an average homeowner up to $200 annually on heating and cooling.”
With touch screen interaction, the VisionPRO offers a large, clear backlit digital display that is easy to read in various lighting conditions.
The 7-Day Wi-Fi Programmable Thermostat is one of many Honeywell thermostats that allow remote management of temperature settings, system mode fan settings, control of multiple thermostats in a single home or in multiple locations, and access to a 5-day weather forecast, all from any web-enabled device. Users can also get alerts such as filter change reminders and notification when the home’s temperature is too hot or too cold.
